There are billions of dollars to buy submarines, fighter jets and other military hardware so that we can jump when the US demand we join them in another of their ill-thought-out campaigns, but no money to support our key cultural institutions. The Barbarians are indeed at the gate.
If you support the National Library and believe our money is better spent on the NLA and Trove, please point out to Prime Minister Turnbull that we can't be ignorant and innovative at the same time.
