Play Havoc

On the final weekend of 'We Are The Ghosts Of The Future', Donna and Hilary ran a playwriting workshop. It was a fundraiser for the production, as well as being a way to share with other playwrights our approaches to writing, and discoveries we made during this 'immersive theatre' process. Day 1, Donna had the participants writing hard and fast, pushing into the hidden corners of their characters' souls. Day 2, Hilary focused on physical objects and architecture, looking at how they can generate story and character, and shape an audience's emotional responses.

We all had so much fun that we want to do it again. We are planning to run further workshops early in 2016. These will be one-day workshops - some one-offs, some series of two or three.

The workshops are open to people of any level of experience. As with the original, the aim is to help you get out of your own way, loosen up blocks, look at writing from unexpected perspectives, enjoy yourself and come away with the beginnings of a new play. If you're keen to give it a try, get in touch. We'll let you know when and where it's happening.

Meanwhile, merry Christmas, happy holidays, and wishing you joy and peace in 2016.
